What I learnt this week: Leeding the way!

NB- Yes I do know how to spell leading don’t worry.  But I went to Leeds this weekend (well back in September I traveled there, eek)- hence the play on words…

There’s something I’ve begun to notice.  And I’m not sure if I’m collecting like minded people or if it’s a trend that’s taking hold on a larger scale.  But recently I’ve realises that people in my life are making different choices.  Ones that go against the crowd…

I have quite a few girlfriends who have hit 30 and aren’t married, (and love being single) and friends who have been together for ages but aren’t having babies, or getting married.  This would have been an anomaly years ago but now it’s starting to make sense.  One size life doesn’t fit all!

What works for some may not work for others.  If you want to get married and have kids   or have a boyfriend or not, or a girlfriend etc etc, that’s totally cool but if you don’t that’s equally ok.  It doesn’t matter either way.  What matters is you’re happy with your choice!

It’s all about working out what you want for yourself and not being afraid to do that, regardless of what others think.  This will leed (I know, I did it again, clever right) you in the right direction.  You don’t have to follow someone else’s life style, you create your own!  There are no rules…

What happened for me this week? (Well in mid September)…

Outside of the working hours- this is the cool stuff-

Monday: writing with Stu- best writing buddy!

Tuesday: dinner with Michelle- who has just arrived from Aus!  We went to a yummy Turkish place in Sheppards Bush.

Wednesday: writing, writing and more writing.  Such a good girl, I know!

Thursday: dinner with Andrea in Manchester.  Headed to ‘Luck, lust, liquor and burn’ – Mexican = YUM!

The freaking weekend:  Went to Leeds and hung out with Martine and Gareth.  We chilled on Friday night.  Wandered around Harrogate and ate cupcakes for high tea on Saturday.  Then checked out the Leeds night life.  Sunday we walked around Bolton Abbey- a beautiful nature reserve and ate a huge roast lunch after all that exercise.  I also caught up with my Camino buddy Ben on the Sunday night, we chatted and ate more food, so full!

I had a super cool weekend!!!  Look at my face below for confirmation of this…
